# Reusable React Component Architecture
As a React codebase grows, poorly structured components turn into a maintenance problem fast. Good component architecture keeps things reusable without becoming over-engineered.
## Composition Over Configuration
Instead of adding more and more props to control a component's behavior, compose smaller components together. A `Card` component that accepts `children` is more flexible than one with ten boolean props controlling every variation.

## Separate Presentational and Container Logic
Keep components that fetch data and manage state separate from components that only render UI. This makes the presentational components easy to reuse and test in isolation.
## Prop Design
Design props around what the component needs to know, not around your data shape. Passing an entire API response object as a prop tightly couples the component to that specific API.
## Folder Structure
Grouping by feature (e.g. `/features/checkout`) rather than by file type (`/components`, `/hooks`, `/utils`) scales better in larger apps, since related code stays together.
## Avoid Premature Abstraction
Not every component needs to be infinitely reusable from day one. Building an over-flexible component before you have two or three real use cases usually adds complexity without benefit — extract the abstraction once the pattern repeats.
## Conclusion
Good component architecture is less about clever patterns and more about discipline: clear boundaries, focused responsibilities, and abstracting only when a real second use case appears.
